AI can feel magical when it produces a useful answer in seconds. But treating it as magic is a poor way to build a business process.

01

The cabinet needs something inside it

A filing cabinet is only useful when it contains the right material. The same is true of AI. Real value appears when it can work with the organisation’s documents, decisions, customers, processes and accumulated experience.

AI does not remove the need for context. It makes good context far more useful.

02

Organisation changes the answer

Scattered files, conflicting versions and unclear ownership produce uncertain results. Before asking AI to help, it is often worth deciding which sources matter, what is current and who is responsible.

03

Better questions come from experience

The most valuable prompts are rarely clever phrases. They are precise questions from someone who understands the work: what decision must be made, which exceptions matter and what a useful answer must contain.

04

Start with one real drawer

Choose one bounded workflow, give it reliable context and test whether the output improves a real decision. If it does, build further. If it does not, learn before adding more technology.
